Controlling a Cylinder with a Solenoid using a Hook-Up Starter Kit from FrightProps

A solenoid is an air control valve that allows for the electronic control of air entering a pneumatic solenoid. Using a solenoid valve and a controller, such as a PicoBoo, you can program and activate a sequence of movements using a pneumatic cylinder.

The FrightProps Cylinder Hook-Up Starter Kit includes all the required fittings and accessories to control most standard pneumatic cylinders.

Kits do not include power supplies or cylinders, but everything else you need to control a cylinder is included.

All kits come with 1/8 NPT fittings (other sizes are available by request).

What is NPT? NPT (National Pipe Thread) is an industry standard for pneumatic fittings. It can be confusing to people new to pneumatics because the NPT measurement is not the same as the outer dimensions in inches. For instance, an 1/8" NPT fitting actually measures 3/8" outer diameter.
