As far as I can tell this is following the same model as the last season, however it is unique to the season and there is 70 days for Supercell to WOW me! Overall I think if you play the game regularly/once a day this is definitely worth the purchase because you are already invested in the game and the brawl pass just rewards you more for playing the game!
