New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has addressed bizarre rumors that she is expecting a child.

The progressive Democrat responded to a follower on social media asking whether she was pregnant because she was 'glowing.'

'Everyone keeps asking me if I'm pregnant,' she said in a video on her Instagram Story, before revealing that a Republican member of Congress asked her the same thing on the floor of the House of Representatives this past week.

'I'm not pregnant guys,' she said, dispelling a rumor that has circulated since before the election.

'I had a lot of food at Thanksgiving, OK? It happens,' she said.

Rumors that the Squad member was pregnant were spread by far-right political activist Laura Loomer ahead of the 2024 election - which AOC handedly won over a Republican challenger.

She asked the Congresswoman to come on her show, saying: 'I would love to talk about your baby bump and your abortion push.'

Loomer went on to make similar comments following AOC's victory.

'Hey @AOC The election is over. You can come out and finally admit you're pregnant. Or are you waiting til the ninth month to abort?

'The election is over, cupcake,' she wrote.

AOC has been engaged to marketing professional Riley Roberts since 2022, after meeting when they were both undergraduates at Boston University.

While AOC has risen to become one of the most prominent progressive Democrats in Congress, Roberts has maintained a low profile.

He attended the Met Gala in 2021 when AOC wore the infamous 'Tax the Rich' dress and has appeared in her Instagram videos.
