Volvo have released a plug-in hybrid version of their small luxury SUV. The XC40 PHEV version is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol turbocharged engine working with an electric motor and 10.7kWh of batteries to give 262hp of hybrid power. The quoted electric range is 46km and the starting price is €55,200 before grants.
