A spooky coincidence: 481 park runners at Lee-on-the-Solent parkrun 481.

After some pretty awful weather this past week, we all woke up to a lovely, clear sky and great running conditions, although the wind was a bit challenging.

So, 481 runners gathered at Lee Promenade, ready to kick off their Saturday morning. For some, it’s a ritual; for others, it’s a wake-up call, and for many, it’s a family affair. Whatever your reason for being there this morning, I hope you got what you needed to start your weekend right.

For me, it was a return-from-injury test to see how I was feeling and what progress I had made. Today's challenge was battling the wind and assessing my performance before pushing for the finish line.

I brought my camera along as a means of accountability. I run parkruns and other events with it to share my perspective and to prove that age and fitness are just numbers – you're never too old to improve or start something new.

Even if just one person watches and enjoys my videos, I feel satisfied. So, enjoy today’s event, see if you can spot yourself in the slower version, and hopefully, I’ll see you again next weekend!
