Spring Mill Pioneer Village (Mitchell, Indiana)

Описание к видео Spring Mill Pioneer Village (Mitchell, Indiana)

FILMED IN HIGH DEFINITION

This place has a really unusual history. Pioneers founded the village in 1814, utilizing spring water from a cave to build a grist mill. It was a successful operation until railroads eliminated the need to have grains milled at Spring Mill. After a devastating bout of disease, the village was abandoned and virtually lost to time. It was then re-discovered, and in 1929, the village was restored and became the tourist attraction it is today.

If you’ve been here and loved it, this will be a trip down memory lane. If you’ve never been, maybe this will make you want to visit. Truly the most amazing state park in Indiana, if not the country. Park also has a space center, nature center, boat rental marina, and 5 caves: one that even offers a boat ride. A simply endearing place I go back to again and again, like I have for more than 40 years.
