Gateway to heaven | மணி கதவம் தாள் திறவாய் | Vaikunta Ekadashi | Sorga Vasal | Sikkil Gurucharan

Sitting on the gorgeous doorway with paintings and sculptures, Sikkil Gurucharan sings the 16th verse of Tiruppavai, Nayakanai Ninra in the ragam Mohanam. In this verse, Andal requests the guardian of the gate to Nandagopa's palace to open so that the girls can enter to wake Him up.

On the auspicious occasion of Vaikunta Ekadashi, this song and its setting seems appropriate to mark the opening of the Gateway to Heaven or "சொர்க்க வாசல்" which is considered by Vaishnavites as the entry to Vaikuntam.
