After several years of not playing this, I decided to give it another shot, this time on the hardest difficulty. I'm in love with this game's atmosphere and I think the concept of the story is great, but overall the game just doesn't do it for me, in other words it sucks. On hard difficulty the game is barely playable, as enemies seem to have wallhack and aimbot and Jack (the player character) can only get shot a few times before he dies. Multiple enemies at once means certain death.

This game does hold a special place in my heart. I remember exactly when I got it. I received it as a present in 5th grade in 2008, from a classmate, a girl called Charissa, for Sinterklaas (a Dutch holiday and tradition similar to Santa Claus). I was a huge Aliens versus Predator 2 fan back then (still am) and this game felt similar.

Story:

Revolution; The evolution of mankind is in your hands!
The environment has been ravaged. The planet is wounded and wasting away. In order for humanity to continue, our bodies have been modified to enhance strengths and minimize weaknesses. Have we gone too far?

You begin as a maintenance worker for the corporation, The Centre of Hope and Power. As you explore and uncover more about your employer, you discover the 'New Breed' program designed to advance the species. But with every enhancement comes a cost and the question becomes: Will you use technology or will it use you?

The Resistance, an underground movement that wants you preserve the human race in its purest form, contacts you. They entice you to join them in their fight to preserve the species; however, the corporation has other plans for you.
As the first 'New Breed' you are truly powerful, but what have you really become? Are you still human? Will you support the corporation or join the resistance?
