Work set to begin Tuesday evening on I-195 is related to a new weight monitoring system RIDOT is installing on the Washington Bridge, a spokesperson confirmed to NBC 10 Tuesday.

The $2.7 million contract with the tech company Kistler will bring "structural health monitoring solutions" to the eastbound Washington Bridge, the newer bridge that all traffic is currently driving over.
