Exciting times are heading for World of Warcraft as players alike begin ramping up their preparations for the upcoming expansion, The War Within. With Dragonflight drawing to a close, players can look forward to plenty of new systems and features, some of which have already arrived with the expansion pre-patch (Patch 11.0). As is tradition with expansion pre-patches, a unique event is available for players to enjoy until the expansion launch on August 26th (and Early Access, which starts on August 22nd).
Radiant Echoes is the new pre-patch event where players can fight against memories of iconic WoW raid bosses in three different zones. Players can use this opportunity to not only test out new class changes but also earn gear and various cosmetic rewards. Here is everything players need to know about Radiant Echoes in World of Warcraft.
Updated August 3, 2024 by Hsuan Tung Chen: In response to player feedback, Blizzard released a live update to the pre-patch event, Radiant Echoes, on August 1st, 2024. The update addressed several concerns, including shorter cycles between zones, repeatable bosses, reduced grind for currency farming, and more.
The Radiant Echoes event will take place between July 30th and August 26th and be available for all characters between levels 10 and 70. Players with a level 70 character will automatically receive an introductory quest called The War Within, eventually sending them to Dalaran (Legion) to meet Khadgar, while players below 70 will be directed there immediately. Dalaran will be the main hub of the event, with the action taking place between Dustwallow Marsh, Dragonblight, and Searing Gorge. The event will cycle between the three zones every hour, with each zone alternating between two repeating stages. Players can take portals in the Chamber of the Guardian in Dalaran to each of the zones and return via another portal at each location.
The portals in Dalaran and a multicolor orb icon on the map will mark the current active zone and the remaining duration until the next zone. Each zone will have a camp where players can accept an account-wide daily quest to slay the respective zone's Remembered boss.
Broken Masquerade - Remembered Onyxia slain (Dustwallow Marsh).
Only Darkness - Remembered Lich King slain (Dragonblight).
Champion of the Waterlords: Remembered Firelord slain (Searing Gorge).
Players can earn Residual Memories, the event currency, by participating in the event stages, completing the daily quests, and slaying enemies called memories in the area. Residual Memories can be used to purchase upgradeable Veteran gear, starting from item level 480, and a variety of cosmetics, such as Mounts and Battle Pets.
During the first stage, players will need to conquer various mini-events around the zone, shown on the map as multicolor orbs. These events require players to complete objectives like defeating mini-bosses, killing mobs, freeing prisoners, and more. Each mini-event completed in the zone reduces the Memories Remaining progress bar at the top of the screen. Once the bar reaches zero percent, stage one will end and stage two will begin immediately.
Each mini-event that players complete will reward the following:
200 Residual Memories.
Chance for Warbound 480 gear (Veteran track) for level 70 characters. Characters below 70 will receive Soulbound gear scaled to their level.
Memory of Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms/Northrend (Only drops if players own Lifeless Stone Ring in the Warband)
2 Whelping's Awakened Crests (Only for level 70 characters)
In the second stage, players will need to kill the final boss, which differs depending on the zone. As mentioned above, these bosses are objectives of the three account-wide daily quests in each zone, each rewarding 3,000 Residual Memories upon completion.
Remembered Onyxia (Dustwallow Marsh).
Remembered Lich King (Dragonblight).
Remembered Firelord (Searing Gorge).
Once the boss is defeated, stage one starts anew at 100% Memories Remaining. Players can continue repeating both stages for rewards until the event cycles to a new zone. Killing a zone boss rewards the following:
1400 Residual Memories.
Chance for Warbound 480 gear (Veteran track) for level 70 characters. Characters below 70 will receive Soulbound gear scaled to their level.
Chance for Token of Remembrancers, which contains a random piece of Soulbound 493 gear (Champion track).
Memory of Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms/Northrend (Only drops if players own Lifeless Stone Ring in the Warband)
2 Drake's Awakened Crests (Only for level 70 characters)
