Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) threw some shade back at his colleague Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) over their committee’s ongoing Russia investigation.

Speaking to CNN’s Erin Burnett, Gowdy responded to Schiff’s comment that “Mr. Gowdy took the role of a second attorney for Mr. Kushner.”

“I think that’s Adam’s frustration that Jared Kushner didn’t tell him what he wanted to hear from a political ambitions standpoint. This investigation has been very good for the Adam Schiff for Senate campaign, but yesterday was not good for him.”

He then slammed his Democratic colleagues.

“What I was tired of, Erin, were the Democrats asking non-relevant questions,” he continued. “The Democrats ran out of good questions, but they didn’t run out of questions.”

Gowdy added that Donald Trump Jr. and Paul Manafort are “must-have” testimonies as they are “central witnesses” to the House Intelligence Committee’s ongoing investigation into Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election.

“We’re looking at four things,” he elaborated. “What did Russia do, to whom did they do it, The unmasking/leaks, and the U.S. government’s response.”

He added that he hopes that he can learn from Trump Jr. as much as he can as he did with Jared Kushner on Tuesday.
