Essential Functions of Trackman in Indian Railways :

1. Perform Basic Work in Indian Railways.
2. Grind end of rails, remove old spikes, drive new spikes, cut ties, and perform related maintenance
while working as a member of a work crew.
3. Operate light and heavy yard maintenance machinery (portable grinder, spike puller, and others).
4. Operate power and manual tools.
5. Use power drill to drill holes through rail or tie plates for insertion of bolts and spikes.
6. Operates track wrench machine to tighten or loosen bolts at rail joints.
7. Operates rail saw to cut rail to specified lengths.
8. Loading, unloading, and general handling of materials and equipment as instructed.
