Drone (Intrusive) Staff Safety

Drone and staff safety is something that you would never think be in the same sentence, however, from working with our clients over the past few months and listening to the increase of drones flying into or close to the respective business has caused some of our clients to reassess this ever-growing risk.

We at Quell are always looking and listening for new risks to help keep ahead of the possible threat of an incident, plus enabling our clients to have countermeasures and systems in place to minimise the consequence.

This type of risk will be put down by some as a minor issue and no doubt will be something that will probably be laughed at … but be assured that we have met new clients that have taken this very seriously as their premises/locations have been potentially broken into or vandalised by someone and they have all occurred after the sighting of a drone.

Overall, we do not need to think that every drone in the sky is related to a potential crime, however, is it not worth thinking about what measures you already have in place and have informed your own staff on the actions to take if a drone is seen near your workplace.

Finally, the legal system from the Police, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) all direct these issues to each other at times, therefore it's important for you to know what to do before you to have a incident.
