Stephen Hall is a leader of the Sustainable Cities program within the University of Leeds’ Sustainability Research Institute. His research explores urban architecture through more than just design, as it takes on an environmental and social perspective in order to determine what is necessary to create a sustainable urban future. Through imagination, creativity and collaboration, his talk focuses on what a community vision of the ‘good life’ looks like, and how taking back energy control will get us there.
Stephen Hall is an esteemed researcher at the University of Leeds, dedicated to developing a smarter way to use energy and investigates the decarbonisation of cities. Through multidisciplinary projects, he was worked internationally in science, business and energy policy to understand the role that cities play in our low carbon future. He is a gifted story teller and lecturer, and delivers complex theoretical ideas in a way that invigorates the imagination of what could be possible.
