Rhino.Inside.Revit (Proof of Concept): Pushing Blocks of Lines to Revit as Groups of Trusses

Описание к видео Rhino.Inside.Revit (Proof of Concept): Pushing Blocks of Lines to Revit as Groups of Trusses

This is a workflow in Revit using an add-on called Rhino.Inside.Revit to "push" (or "convert") a line/stick/analytical model in CAD format, of which the lines have been placed under blocks, to Revit as native structural framing families and types, of which the structural framing elements will be placed under groups.

With Rhino.Inside.Revit, I generally push line models in CAD to Revit as individual structural framing (ie. beam) elements. However, in some cases, when the structure is designed as truss, it makes more sense to tag and schedule them as such in Revit. Pushing the beams as individual elements would take extra effort downstream to either put them into groups, or build "complex and trusses" structural framing families out of them.

This is a Grasshopper definition with Rhino.Inside.Revit component to "convert" blocks of lines in CAD to groups of trusses in Revit.

This workflow has only been tested in the line model shown.

I've written a detailed walkthrough of the definition in my blog, if you're interested
