The Kano State Police Command has arrested three principal suspects in connection with the tragic killing of a housewife and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano.

The arrests followed an intelligence-led sting operation carried out between the night of January 17 and the early hours of January 18, 2026, under the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun. The operation was coordinated by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.

According to police findings, the prime suspect—identified as a close relative of the deceased—confessed to the crime and linked the group to other violent attacks within Kano metropolis. Items recovered include mobile phones, weapons, and other exhibits connected to the incident.

The Kano State Police Command has assured residents that investigations are ongoing and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and public safety.
