2013 has been a somewhat eventful year in the life of the 15 inch gauge Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. A devastating workshop fire involving 3 stripped down steam locos meant that the railway has been reliant on locos hired in from the Bure Valley Railway and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. This video looks back over the past year, using footage filmed from the lineside in my role as a volunteer in the permanent way department. There is also some footage from the footplate of the visiting locos Wroxham Broad and Samson, and the resident loco River Mite.
