As someone who’s worked in four different research labs, completed a PhD, and continued on to postdoc, there's a lot of harsh realities of academia that I've had to find out the hard way. This isn’t about discouraging you — it’s about helping you make an informed decision.

These are my personal reflections based on real experience, and I hope they offer some clarity, especially if you’re feeling uncertain or pressured to take this path.
