 How to install a heatsink on an SSD? Does the performance of your SSD drop, the drive overheats and your computer slows down? If so, I will show you how to install a cooler for an M.2 SSD drive. I bought a be quiet!! cooler for $10, but installation of heatsink from other brands will be similar. Let's start by removing the protective foil from the backside of the cooling backplate. Then careful insert your SSD so that the circular notch of the heatsink is on the same side as the notch of the disk. After that, peel of the foil from the upper side of the thermalpad and place the cooler on the SSD. Be sure to place it notch to notch. It's easy, but do it slowly and gently. The heatsink will immediately stick to the drive, so it can't be moved later. If it doesn't work, apply it again. Gently squeeze whole thing. Depending on whether you have a single- or double- sided disk, screw the screws into the marked place. And that's all folks!
