In this lecture, delivered in Session 8 of the Deal Maker course by Jay Abraham, I was invited to present my take on branding and choosing deal partners that are most likely to contribute the most to your Brand Equity. This video also includes many ideas on how to improve your own Brand Value.

Suggested partnering criteria:

1. Select 2-3 businesses you would like to consider partnering with;

2. Read all you can about the business (Google, ChatGPT, the business website)

3. Eliminate partner(s) you think partnering with is not likely to work because the gap between your value systems is too wide.

4. Set up a meeting with the owner(s) with whom you feel your values align. During the meeting, ask as many questions as you feel are necessary to draw a solid conclusion. During the meeting, take notes.

5. If your values align, do the following before making a final decision:
Use the question items in the file titled Brand Equity to assess the attitudes and perceptions of the market (your future partner's target market). Assess their awareness of the business, their associations, loyalty, and perceptions of quality.

If the overall brand equity is high (it is a well-known business, the market has positive perceptions about the business, it has a substantial base of loyal customers, and it is perceived as a provider of high-quality service), then and only then would I advise you to partner with the business.
