I was 8 and I found the meaning of life for myself - buy a gaming PC.
Powerful, beautiful, to play all games maxing out.
I spent the whole evening choosing options online and found exactly what I needed ... for one thousand five hundred dollars.

Dad, can you buy me a computer for for one thousand five hundred?
For a long time, I went on and on about how it is important for me and how my life will change for the better and that I will become the coolest guy in school.

My father sat me down and told me to write down all my income.
But at first, I’m like, “Pff... Dad, I'm 8 years old, what income?”

I give you pocket money. You receive money on your birthday. What else?
So I wrote out all the sources of income and the next month I was writing everything down in a notebook and putting the money in the jar. I saved about sixteen dollars.
At this pace, I needed more than 7 years to collect the sum.

I came to my father for the second time.

I told all my relatives about my goal and asked them to give me only cash as a gift.
Most of them adequately accepted my request.
One thousand five hundred dollars for a computer? Grandson, are you nuts? You'd rather find some job.

I also began to ask, “should I go shopping”, in order to keep the change, and I began to visit the most “profitable” relatives more often.

My income rose to thirty dollars in the second month.
I went to the store, bought a gaming keyboard, a mouse... and the games for SonyPlaystation for two hundred and fifty dollars.

Yes, I broke down and had to start almost from the beginning.

I never bought a gaming PC. But I learned two vital lessons for myself:
There are different sources of income. Including teenagers. Gifts from parents and relatives, pocket money is a source of income.
It is necessary to record all cash transactions, income and expenses. Then there is a sense of control over the situation.
