Lohyna Youth Wrestling Team at Tournament in Nitra | September 23

We finished September 2023 with a tournament in Nitra, where we went with our youth wrestling team consisting of Maksym Kachanov, Hlib Yerokhin, Matej Polák, Adam Hargaš, Tomáš Janžo and Peter Čavojský.

Maksym and Hlib had the same tournament course - both of them barely lost in their semi-final fights after winning the opening matches, but they entered the bronze matches even more motivated and defeated their opponents by technical superiority in less than 30 seconds.

In his second tournament, Matej's opening match did not go well, but through the repechage, he was given the opportunity to compete for third place and with a strong performance finished the tournament with a bronze medal.

Adam fought his way through the group and elimination matches to the finals with a convincing performance and won a silver medal.

Peter and Tomáš both won their wrestling competition premiere matches. Peter managed to score points in the beginning, but in the end, he is taking two losses away from Nitra. Tomáš managed to win the first match and gained a lot of competition experience for future tournaments in the following three.

We are happy to see our youth team, so passionate about this sport, gradually growing in numbers.
