Voltage Control Relay Description

A Voltage Control Relay (VCR) is an electrical protection device used to monitor and control the voltage level in a circuit. It continuously checks whether the supply voltage is within the safe operating range of electrical equipment. If the voltage goes too high (over-voltage) or too low (under-voltage), the relay quickly disconnects the load or gives a trip signal to protect the system.

Working Principle:

The relay measures the incoming supply voltage.

If the voltage is normal, it allows the circuit to remain ON.

If the voltage exceeds the set limits (either high or low), the relay coil de-energizes and the contacts change state, disconnecting the load or giving an alarm.

Functions of Voltage Control Relay:

Protects equipment from over-voltage and under-voltage.

Improves safety and prevents damage to motors, compressors, and sensitive devices.
