In today's video, I'm going to teach you how to add coupons on WordPress.com. This is a straightforward process that can make a big difference in your online store, attracting more customers with enticing discounts. Follow along as we guide you through each step.

First, you'll want to ensure you're logged into your WordPress.com account. Go to your preferred web browser and type in 'wordpress.com login'. This will take you to the login page where you can enter your credentials and gain access to your dashboard. Once you're logged in, you'll find yourself on the main page of WordPress. From here, your journey to creating a coupon begins.

Next, navigate to the localhost/wordpress/wp-admin page. We need to access the backend of your WordPress site to adjust settings and add new features such as coupons. Once you're at the wp-admin page, look for the Dashboard option located in the sidebar on the left. Clicking this will give you access to a wide array of options and settings for your site.

Now, you'll need to scroll down a bit to find WooCommerce. WooCommerce is the plugin that manages your online store, and it's where we'll set up the coupon. Click on WooCommerce, and once it has loaded, locate the Coupons section. This is where you can create new discounts and manage existing ones.

To add a new coupon, click on 'Add new coupon'. This will open up a new page where you can input all the details for your coupon. You'll first want to enter the coupon code. This could be something simple, like SUMMER2023 or DISCOUNT10. The code is what users will input on the checkout page to receive their discount.

In addition to the code, you'll see a description box. It's helpful to fill this out with a short explanation of what the coupon does. This can be beneficial for your records and for others who might be managing your site.

Next, select the discount type. The most common options are percentage discount or a fixed cart discount. Choose whichever suits your promotion best. Alongside this, specify the coupon amount. This is the actual value of the discount that your customers will receive.

Don’t forget about shipping! If your promotion includes free shipping, make sure to click on 'Allow free shipping' to include this in your coupon. Also, consider setting a coupon expiry date. This creates a sense of urgency and can encourage customers to make a purchase before the coupon expires.

Finally, when all of your desired fields are filled out and double-checked, click 'Publish'. This final step activates your coupon, making it available for your customers to use.
