This morning was a Hunger double feature. First I played the official 1969 LP, then I switched to the heavier unreleased 1968 test pressing version so you can hear what changed.

Part 1 is Strictly From Hunger. Released 1969 on Public! Records P-1006 (P-1006). Portland band that moved to L.A. and cut a killer organ and fuzz garage psych LP that still holds up.

Part 2 is the 1968 test pressing mix, ripped from my personal copy of the 1998 Void Records release (VOID 08). This version is rawer, more guitar-forward, and feels way more alive. Longer tracks, different takes, less trimming, and fewer “cleaned up” moments compared to the final LP edit.
