Good morning MWAfam. Alright. I don’t need to be the 1,725,425 person to tell you it’s nasty weather in KC so let’s just move on.

Today’s is one of those GUT IT OUT DAILYS that isn’t fun, exciting, rah, rah. The complete opposite actually. Today, I’m struggling. I don’t feel like filming. I HAVEN’T TAKEN A SHOWER AND STILL IN THE SAME CLOTHES SINCE YESTERDAY.

I’M STRUGGLING TODAY FAM. I want to be genuine, authentic, and raw with you. I’M NOT HERE TO PRETEND TODAY IS A GOOD DAY. We got the weather coming in, my mood is down. The WINTER TIME IS NOT A GOOD TIME FOR ME. It is what it is.

Like you do on occasion. HOW DO I KNOW YOU STRUGGLE???? BECAUSE EVERYONE STRUGGLES YO. I’ve been hot since Day 1 that I want to talk more about EVERYONE STRUGGLING rather than just ya’ll who have been diagnosed with a mental disorder. #mwaeveryonestruggles

I think mental health culture gets it all wrong. It likes to separate those that have been diagnosed from those that haven’t been diagnosed. HERE’S THE REALITY. EVERYONE STRUGGLES. Some of us struggle more than others, but everyone struggles with something. EVEN THERAPISTS STRUGGLE!!!!

ALOT OF US ARE HIDING IN SECRECY AND HAVEN’T BEEN DIAGNOSED. Yet you struggle just as much as someone who hasn’t been diagnosed. WE DON’T TALK ABOUT OUR STRUGGLES OUT OF FEAR, JUDGEMENT, OR SHAME.

Some of OUR STRUGGLES INTERFERE IN OUR LIVES MORE THAN OTHERS and that’s when you get PROFESSIONAL HELP.

I WANT US TO ALL UNDERSTAND THAT WE ALL STRUGGLE. I THINK THAT WOULD PROVIDE A COMMON BOND FOR ALL OF US. Also, talking more about that EVERYONE STRUGGLES, it would be easier for us to talk and receive support if we embraced and celebrated EVERYONE STRUGGLES.

I’M TALKING ABOUT STRUGGLING TODAY TO HELP YOU NOT FEAR TALKING ABOUT YOUR STRUGGLES. You may have only seen the happy, fun Randy. YOU KNOW WE ALL WEAR MASKS AND PUT ON THAT FAKE SMILE. TELL PEOPLE YOU ARE FINE WHEN YOU ARE NOT.

So when you are struggling, I hope you feel comfortable talking with someone who is supportive. I also want you to have a set of skills (we like CBT skills) to work through your struggles. For me, TODAY I’M REALLY TRYING TO STAY IN THE MOMENT AND LETTING MYSELF STRUGGLE TODAY. TOMORROW WILL BE A DIFFERENT DAY. A day not to struggle.
