COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced he was not ready to say when Ohio's daycares will reopen. He had indicated that decision would come on Monday.

There have been 24,777 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases reported with 1,357 deaths. There have been 4,413 hospitalizations, with 1,217 admitted to the ICU.

Warren 209 cases, 13 deaths, 38 hospitalizations
Clermont 125 cases, 3 deaths, 28 hospitalizations
Clinton 35 cases, 0 deaths, 10 hospitalizations
Highland 12 cases, 1 death, 3 hospitalizations
Brown 17 cases, 1 death, 3 hospitalizations.
Adams 6 cases, 0 deaths, 0 hospitalizations
DeWine said he and his working group were still trying to determine protocols for Ohio's childcare centers to reopen. This, as he said 90 percent of Ohio's economy will be open with the reopening of retail on Tuesday, May 12.

The governor said mistakes he's made in his career have come down to not having all the facts, not digging deep enough, or asking the right people. He's trying to make sure what he decides is safe for children, families, and employees.

"Reopening childcare centers is simply too important to do so without making certain that we have all the best information, that we have all the right protocols in place."

Dr. Amy Acton said Monday that five cases of COVID-19 were discovered from January through antibody testing. She said health officials are working with those people to see if those cases were associated with travel. All five were in different counties, but Dr. Acton didn't say which counties.

Lt. Gov. Jon Husted said with retail opening Tuesday, 89 percent of the state's economy will be operational. He said wearing a mask as a customer is about respecting employees of the stores and restaurants.

"It's out of respect for the person you're going to come in contact with who's an employee at a store or a restaurant, or someplace that you like to go to. The reason you're going to do this is because they might be at home caring for someone who is very vulnerable. You can walk around without the symptoms, you can give them to somebody else and it could be somebody's mom or dad, grandmother or grandfather, who I really in a tough spot and very susceptible to mortality. That's what I mean by mutual respect. It's about looking out for those of us who could be very vulnerable to this virus," said Husted. "Just a friendly reminder of what we owe to each other."
