How to measure your Draft Horse for a bit 1

Описание к видео How to measure your Draft Horse for a bit 1

Whether you ride your Draft Horse English or Western, it is important that you get the correct sized bit.

If you are new to Draft Horses, you have probably never thought about what size bit should I use. Most regular sized horses wear a size 5" bit, and you will find most bits are that size. Some warmbloods wear a size 5 1/2" inch bit, and there a few in that size. I have found that the western bit selection for 5 1/2" is pretty small. This is something I hope to change.

Draft Horses are usually either a 6" or a 6 1/2". There are some that wear a 7" bit or even bigger. So it is very important to measure to get the right size. Draft Horse Crosses can wear any size bit, even 5 3/4" which are harder to find :)
