Marie Daulne was the founder and main voice of the original group Zap Mama. Singer, songwriter, performer, lyricist, activist, video artist and ethno-vocal therapist, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Belgium.

The group Zap Mama, founded in 1990, sings afro-pop and polyphonic music, a harmonic mix of African vocal techniques infused with urban and hip hop rhythms, with an emphasis on the voice.

Zap Mama's worldwide success began with a quintet of female polyphonic singers whose unique vocal style drew influences from American hip hop, nu-soul, jazz and elements of pop. His song "Iko-iko" was featured in the film Mission: Impossible II. Nowadays Marie Daulne herself is identified as Zap Mama.

Miss Q’n is one of the tracks on the album Ancestry in Progress, released in 2004 - the year in which Marie Daulne - now known as Zap Mama - returned to Belgium, after 3 years living in New York.
