This is the eleventh episode of Tom and Jerry produced in Technicolor and released to theaters on June 26, 1943.
First cartoon to win an Academy Award for Best Short Subject, Cartoon.
This is the first Tom and Jerry short to be animated by Ray Patterson, who arrived from Screen Gems.
When originally shown on the Cartoon Network, the segment where the kettle explodes with Tom's face in it was shortened to remove the part where Tom appears in blackface. As of recent airings since 2002, this part has been reinstated.
