F-14A Tomcats of VF-211 Fighting Checkmates, Daytime Op Southern Watch (Dec 1997)

Описание к видео F-14A Tomcats of VF-211 Fighting Checkmates, Daytime Op Southern Watch (Dec 1997)

Here's 8 1/2 minutes of video that I took in December 1997, during the VF-211 Fighting Checkmates six-month deployment with CVW-9 aboard the USS Nimitz. Highlights include:
- A cat shot as seen from the rear cockpit, and you can hear the sound of the cat above the cockpit ECS;
- Some formation air-to-air;
- Cockpit displays and personal GPS, with a brief view of Iraq during our Op. Southern Watch mission;
- At completion of the mission, we lowered our tailhooks, descended through clouds, and swept our wings approaching the carrier;
- Freeze frame of the VF-211 “Brutus” stencil on a LANTIRN pod.
The sound is mostly cockpit ECS, and it cuts out in some segments (sorry!).
These routine videos make me wish I’d shot more!
Tomcats forever!
