In 1851, a group of 57 enthusiastic members, who met regularly at the Red Lion Inn, made the momentous decision to form a golf club which was the very first of its kind on the west coast of Scotland.

There are only a handful of golf clubs in the world that have shaped the game as we know it. Prestwick however might just be the most important of them all.
