Replacing the fuel fitting on a BMW R 1200 GS

Описание к видео Replacing the fuel fitting on a BMW R 1200 GS

There are two assemblies on the outside of the fuel tank on a 2005-07 BMW R 1200 GS that make sure gas gets to where it needs to be. Both come equipped from the factory with cheap, crappy plastic quick disconnects that break sooner or later.

Mine broke later, at about 86,000 miles, but the kicker is it wasn't the original one. It was part of an assembly that was replaced due to a recall.

At any rate, in this video you'll learn how to replace the fuel fittings in question, as well as how to siphon gas out of the tank and remove and fit the side panels.

Tools needed:
* Needlenose pliers
* Special tool for removing housing ring
* T25 Torx driver to remove body panels
* Other various tools (mentioned or seen in the video)

Parts came from Beemer Boneyard (http://www.beemerboneyard.com) and the kit for my bike cost $82.95. Always look up your part numbers before buying parts and ensure you're getting the right stuff!
