Salila Sukumaran from USA says that Yoga has made her strong. It enables her to overcome all the situations in her life. Salila was one of the 56 delegates participated in the Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018.

Yoga Ambassadors Tour was an innovative concept to revive the tourism industry, organized by Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India (ATTOI).  The event was conducted in association with Ministry of Ayush, Government of India and Kerala Tourism.

While inaugurating the event- first of its kind in India- at Leela Raviz Hotel, Kovalam on 14th June 2018, Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State, (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH Government of India, stated “Yoga Ambassadors Tour 2018 is a journey to the great Indian Heritage”. The concept of ‘the world towards India’ has become a reality by this event, he added.

Kerala is already ahead in health and Ayurveda sector. Kerala has significant place in yoga also. Apart from Yoga, the tour includes other specialties Kerala, such as trekking, house boat etc. He hoped the tour would help the delegates to understand the Yoga heritage of India.

Kerala, which is already ahead in almost every walk of life, has set forth another example towards the world in the form of Yoga Ambassadors Tour, said the Tourism Minister of Kerala, Kadakampalli Surendran. One of the major aims of Yoga is to make the people optimistic and peace loving. The muni caves in Munnar depicts our heritage in Yoga.

“The delegates from different parts of the world are not just ambassadors of yoga, but to be the brand ambassadors of Kerala”, said the Tourism Secretary Rani George.

Apart from tourism, the event to highlight the spirituality in yoga, commented the Ayush Ministry Joint Secretary Renjith Kumar.

The first edition of Yoga Ambassadors Tour conducted in Kerala, which started on 14th June at Kovalam, has concluded in Kochi on 21st June 2018 – the International Yoga Day. The tour ended proclaiming Kerala to be the Yoga destination in the coming days.
