Slievenamon - Mountain of the Women - January 2018

Описание к видео Slievenamon - Mountain of the Women - January 2018

Slievenamon or Sliabh na mBan is a 721m high mountain in County Tipperary, Ireland.

Its meaning is Mountain of the Women, coming from the Irish Sliabh na mBan.

In mythology it was said to be home to a door to the underworld, where the faerie-folk lived; somewhere you really wouldn't want to be hanging out in.

It was also associated with Finn or Fionn MacCumhaill, an important figure in Irish mythology. It was Finn who is said to have created many of the landscape features we know today such as the Giant's Causeway, Lough Neagh and the Isle of Man.

Check out some of my videos from the Giant's Causeway as well.

I climbed Slievenamon in January 2018 during a bright spell in the weather, all was calm at lower levels but it was ice-cold up top where a strong breeze blew constantly across the mountain.

To see more of the images that I made from this short climb, see my website at http://panoramicireland.com/blog

Check out those birds at the end, have you ever seen as many crows roosting at night?
