Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1974 Volkswagen Beetle Volksrod! Much like T-Bucket is a catch all term for hot rodded classics, Volksrod is the catch all term for hot rodded beetles!
You are probably here reading this now because this vehicle caught your attention. Here, just about anything with a V8 made before this century catches our eye, but this one is special. For starters, we have the people's car. Volkswagen's Beetle represented so many different things to the world when it arrived, and it has morphed into a culture in the decades following. Here is a tasteful side of the adventurous part of the culture.

This is a pretty heftily customized build with a 4 bolt main 350 V8 under the hood, cranking to a TH350 3 speed automatic, which spins 3.73:1 gears on the rear end. There is plenty of power out of that V8 and not a ton of weight to slow you down! The suspension and frame has been modified or custom-built to suit all the modifications. The rear-end is narrowed with 4-link and coil-over suspension. There are loads of custom touches all the way around this Volksrod, and the build quality looks great!
