For the past 10 years or so in the U.S., it's been illegal to manufacture and sell gas cans with the normal spout + vent that we all grew up with. The complicated & fragile spouts now required on new gas cans are difficult to use at best, and at times simply impossible to pour out of due to the built-in spring-loaded shutoff mechanism.

This video is hardly the first one to address the issue of eco friendly spouts - there are countless videos on YouTube demonstrating various hacks to modify the spouts and/or add a vent to a gas can. Some of these look kinda sketchy to me...they could compromise the integrity of the can's ability to hold fuel, be potentially dangerous, and may even be illegal.

I've found a solution for emergency refueling from my Fuelpax which does not require modifying the can or the spout in any way. I set out on this mini-adventure in order to demonstrate it to you.

NOTE: Double-check your vehicle's fuel filler diameter if you decide to order this. I purchased the 1/2" version and it just fits my Forester's filler tube; the 3/4" version may not fit some vehicles. The 1/2" is plenty fast when you have the fuel source/intake adequately elevated. I got some slowdown in this video because I misjudged the relative heights of the intake and outlet.
