Pilot Treats 7-Year-Old Aviation Enthusiast to Tour of Cockpit

A seven-year-old aviation enthusiast was treated to a tour of a cockpit before a flight at Indianapolis International Airport on March 19.

Jessica Smith recorded this video of her son, Cody, dressed in a pilot uniform as he queried the actual pilot about the tools at hand.

Smith told Storyful that Cody dreams of one day being a pilot, and said he’s been dressing up as one for the last few years during Halloween.

“He loves airplanes and watches videos to expand his knowledge,” said Smith.

Smith told Storyful that while her son has a lot to learn in order to become a pilot, by being allowed to view and experience this cockpit, “he has a head start on it now.”

Smith told Storyful that the footage was captured before a Spirit Airlines flight to Fort Lauderdale. Storyful reached out to Spirit Airlines for comment but did not receive a response at the time of publishing.
