Time Honored Media was hired to document this immersive hunt and animal processing school, a program designed not only to teach field skills but to reconnect people with the land in a meaningful, intentional way. Many participants in this course are either first-time hunters or returning to hunting after years away. Throughout the experience, they are challenged to think deeply about why they hunt, what it means to take an animal’s life, and how to approach every step of the process with reverence.
This school blends practical instruction with ancestral knowledge, giving students the opportunity to learn fire making, fleshing hides for tanning, weaving willow trays for cooking, and working through the entire harvest with respect and purpose. The goal is to cultivate a grounded understanding of where food comes from and to foster a connection that goes far beyond the mechanics of the hunt.
