🔥 Born to Fight, Born to Lead
Durga Mall was born on 1 July 1913 in Doiwala, Dehradun. From his childhood, he carried the fearless Gorkha spirit – loyalty, courage, and sacrifice.

🪖 A Soldier Turns Revolutionary

Joined the 2/1 Gorkha Rifles in the British Army.

Refused to be a servant of slavery – chose the harder path of freedom and rebellion.

Became a pillar of the Indian National Army (INA) under Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.


⚡ The Bravery in Action

Expert in intelligence and reconnaissance, often stepping into enemy zones where death was certain.

Caught by the British while carrying out a dangerous mission – he never broke, never betrayed the INA.

Stood like a lion in the Red Fort Trials, his voice echoing for India’s freedom.


💀 The Supreme Sacrifice
On 25 August 1944, at just 31 years of age, he walked proudly to the gallows inside Red Fort, Delhi.
His last words carried the Gorkha war cry:
👉 “Kafar hunu bhanda marnu ramro”
(Better to die than live like a coward).

🌟 Immortal Legacy

First Gorkha martyr of the INA.

His statue at Dehradun Parade Ground inspires warriors even today.
