The word 'Adavu' means basic step, which forms the pure dancing movement (Nritta) in Bharatanatyam. An Adavu is the combination of the followings;
1. Position of Legs (Sthanakam)
2. Posture of our standing (Mandalam)
3. Walking Movement (Chari)
4. Hand Gestures (Nritta Hastas)

We are an institute dedicated towards experiencing and exploring the Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam to the communities around to help understanding our rich cultural heritage. It is an effort to bring about an awareness of the Indian Arts and culture to Dallas and its suburban cities.

Our curriculum is well structured, organized and flexible to adjust with the student's pace of learning, offering high quality training. We train students from the Beginner level (5 years) upto Advanced levels (Adult Classes). Certification programs are offered to backup their learning process. We have group classes separate for both kids and adults. Students may take private lessons depending on the availability.

In Srishti, we focus on the Bharatanatyam dance style in which the overall mind, body and soul wellness is focused upon. Dance classes include yoga and other exercises for stretching and strengthening the muscles and core which are used the most while performing this intensive dance routine. The syllabus incorporates not just dance theoretical and practical training sessions in the modules, but also positive principles from other principles like Yogic and Sanskrit Literature. Yoga techniques are stressed upon to make it a complete body holistic experience when learning dance.
