In this video lecture, I discussed the complexities of the Caroline Period. This period saw the rise of King Charles I and the development of the Anglican Church. It was also notable for the emergence of the Cavalier poets, who were known for their devotion to the king and their appreciation of beauty and pleasure.

During the Cavalier Period, England's government was in a lot of trouble, which led to the Civil War. This war lasted from 1642 to 1651 and was fought between the royalists and the parliamentarians. The war changed England's political and social landscape in a big way and set the stage for the Puritan Age. In this lecture, we look at these times' political, social, and cultural aspects and how they changed England's history.
