Not bad! Unbeaten in the UK and Ireland and a fantastic prospect for fences, Douvan makes a near-faultless start to his chasing career at Navan under jockey Ruby Walsh for trainer Willie Mulliuns and owners Rich and Sussanah Ricci.

A fantastic winner of the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival last March, Douvan was already a short price for the Arkle Challenge Trophy at March next spring and the gelding has already shortened in price for that contest after strolling to debut success here at Navan.

"He had a bit of a grab at it (the last fence), but he's a novice and gives you a great feel - he's loads of power and I'd be happy with him," said Ruby Walsh. "He's a very talented horse.

Willie Mullins said: "The Racing Post (Novice Chase) at Leopardstown would look the next race. I don't think we've got time to put another run in."
