Welcome to the fascinating world of War Storm Series! This is an introductory video that gets you into the basics of the War Storm Series game system. It has been translated and dubbed from the original Spanish version filmed by EDC and available also on YouTube. Bear in mind that any reference to the terms "Section" or "Platoon" in the video, always denote the scale implemented in the game, "Platoon".
GAME SEQUENCE
Every scenario is divided into Game Turns in which a turn represents an action timelapse
of about 12 to 15 minutes. A turn is comprised of several phases.
The phases are: Command Phase, Initiative Phase, Activation & Actions Phase and, finally, Markers Removal Phase
COMMAND PHASE
At the beginning of each turn, both sides will check what land units are
within Command Range and which units are "Out-of-Command".
All those platoons that are within their Officer Command Range value, will be considered "Under Command".
Reminder: this is the value that portraits the Command Range value for an Officer.
Converserly, all those platoons that are farther than the Command Range value, are set "Out-of-Command".
We will use the appropiate "Out-of-Command" marker.
ACTIVATION PHASE
During this phase, players, starting with the one who has the Initiative,
alternatively will activate an Officer or an "Out-of-Command" platoon provided they are marked as "Finished".
Once an activation takes place and the action is performed,
the turn goes to the other side.
So that way, players will swap activations until both sides pass or
there are no remaining units to be activated.
PERFORMING ACTIONS
There is a comprehensive list of available actions for each type of unit
Among others, these actions may be: move, open fire, assault or react.
All these actions will be shown in detail later on.
MARKERS REMOVAL PHASE
In the last phase we will remove off the board all those markers that are not needed in the following turn and we will move the Turn Track marker one step forward.
There is a chance in where some of the markers may not be removed, such as "Routed" or "Out-of-Command" markers.
