If you have access to another exchange such as Binance, Bittrex, etc, what you can do to avoid the high fees associated with purchasing Cryptocurrency from Coinbase in 2020 is to buy USD coin and then transferring those funds over to another exchange. Once you transfer your USD coin over to another exchange you would be free to convert those coins over to any other cryptocurrency if it has a USD pairing on the exchange. The only fees you would pay are the transfer fees along with the conversion fees which are substantially less than the purchasing fees associated with Coinbase.
