Join Glen McInnis as he visits Canadas Northern Territories.
Watch as Glen McInnis travels along the Yukon Silver Trail, learning about its rich, colourful history. The Yukon may be famous for the Klondike gold rush, but it was also the site of another mineral discovery that made this area one of the worlds leading silver producers and fuelled its economy for years to come. Glen stops at Mayo, Elsa and Keno City and talks to local historians who give us a glimpse into life in a Northern frontier mining town. This 111-kilometer road in the middle of Canadas Yukon Territory runs through some of the most spectacular wilderness ever to be seen.

The Yukon is also synonymous with salmon but this year a lack of chinook ( king) salmon in the Yukon river has led to the closure of commercial and domestic fisheries. Glen talks with the federal fisheries authorities who have asked Yukon First Nations to cut their salmon catch quota in half this season. He also travels to Dawson City to learn how the Tr'ondek Hwech'in Han Nation are taking the lead in conservation and educating their youth on preserving the salmon stock.

Glen also asks people from the Northwest Territories and Nunavut what makes their part of Canada so unique.
