As a wrestling fan, I grew up watching the business evolve from the massive giants in the territory days to spectacle matches such as the Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant match at Wrestlemania III to big men matches being showcases of strength and power, not mass. One of the last spectacle matches was the Haystacks Calhoun Jr "Hornswaggling Hillbilly" (6'0", 725 lbs) vs Tom Dub (5'11", 140 lbs) match at Juggalo Championship Wrestling. This match is proof that some spectacles look better on paper than in practice. After watching the match several times, I can say it was a miracle the ring survived the impact that took place, and Dub wasn't severely injured. This remains a cautionary tale that some promotions avoid disaster only through sheer luck.
