It's sort of a paradox to think that when you're sad, all you want to listen to is sad music.

You would think that a person might want to listen to upbeat music in a down spirited situation.

Science has proven, however, that sad music creates a platform that validates your emotions, and helps you to understand and work through your feelings. They allow you to relate to the lyrics so you can better understand the message that the article is trying to portray and to better come to terms with your emotions.
