Players may only catch the first Pokémon they encounter in each new area. If a Pokémon has already been captured as first encounter, it does not count for future first encounters.
All Pokémon must be nicknamed.
Once a Pokémon faints it must be released.
Players choose each others starter Pokémon not knowing what they will get.
Players cannot have Pokémon with a higher level than that of the highest level Pokémon in the next gym.
The number of Pokémon on a player’s team is set to 2. You can add 1 extra Pokémon after each defeated Gym.
After both players beat a Gym, they must battle using the team they used to defeat the Gym.
The winner of the post-Gym battle has the choice to trade one Pokémon with the loser. The winner picks both Pokémon to be traded.
The first to enter the hall of fame wins."
