Rocket Arena Review

Rocket Arena is the newest arena shooter developed by final strike games and published by EA.

A family-friendly 3v3 shooter controlled by rockets and explosives where you never die.

The base game starts off with 10 playable characters, referred to as Competitors. With the launch of blast pass season 1 the first additional character, Flux was added.
Each competitor has their own distinctive personality with a back story, each offering unique abilities, counters and signature rockets that allows you to pick your preferred playstyle. Earn and unlock artifacts to equip to your competitor to customize their strengths. By playing with a competitor you will earn XP and level up allowing for character progression. You can triple jump which allows for swift movability, although general movement does feel a bit slower than expected. Firing rockets at your feet will launch you into the air and blasting against a wall or mountain will allow you to access greater heights.

Rocket Arena currently offers 5 different play modes with knockout being the primary mode; an AI RocketBot Attack mode to practice your skills and master your competitors; and private custom matches allowing you to play with friends while exploring and getting to know the different maps. There are currently 10 small and compact maps with the promise of more maps being added with seasons to come. Each map has its own climate and danger as it is filled with hidden traps and tricks. On each map, you will find random boxes containing various items to aid you in your rocket-fuelled battle.

I would highlight a bit more on a few topics in the video.

Rocket Arena offers a twist! Remember I mentioned that you never die. Taking too many hits will get you blasted out of the arena, allowing you to survey what is happening around and below you while you return to the action. There is no health or shield indicating when you or your opponent is low but rather a blast meter.

Overall Rocket Arena is lots of fun, with ease of control and vibrant smooth graphics. I do feel that some characters are overpowered and some balancing is still required. Although leveling up, unlocking items, and mastering characters, modes and maps, it does become a bit repetitive.

Cross-play can be enabled if selected in your settings menu.
